Three quick tools to feel better instantly!

Feeling a little down?  Feeling anxious?  Feeling tense and stressed?  Our physical body provides us with many natural tools to use to help our mood.  Use these quick tools to feel better instantly: 

Step 1) Breath Tool:

Take your biggest deep breath then exhale like you are squeezing the air out of a balloon.  Take another deep breath, then open your mouth to produce a “HAAAAAAAA” sound upon exhale for as long as you can.

Step 2) Body Posture Tool: 

While standing, take your feet out past the hips into a straddle stance.  Place your fists on your hips.  Take a breath and feel it in between your ribcage bones.  Next, take your hands behind your head with elbows out and Take a second breath feeling those ribcage bones move even more and the breath lifts the chest.  Finally, extend your arms into a V position above your head and wide enough apart to match the width of your straddle stance and feel the stretch into your armpits and into your chest, ribcage, and lower abdominal. 

Step 3) Neuroplasticity Tool:

Trigger your brain to fire up good feelings by searching for one person, place, or thing that you are grateful for in your life.  If it weren’t there, life would be less satisfying. It doesn’t matter what gratefulness example you choose, just by searching you are activating and rewiring the brain. 

 

TIP:  Once you get the hang of it, try all three simultaneously for a more powerful experience.  While the three steps only take a minute, you can Repeat this as many times as you want to prolong the benefit.
